Clinton N’Jie helps Dynamo Moscow to draw with FC Minsk

print version

A goal apiece inside three first-half minutes saw a relatively strong Dynamo Moscow side draw 1-1 with Belarussian top-flight side FC Minsk. Anton Shramchenko struck first before Clinton N’Jie replied shortly after.

There were a handful of debuts handed out by Kirill Novikov too, including goalkeeper David Sangare. It was the experienced players that combined to threaten early on though, with Konstantin Rausch providing ample chances for his teammates.

After Anton Sosnin volleyed a first-time pass into his path behind the defence after eight minutes, N’Jie saw his one-on-one shot was blocked at close range. Two minutes later N’Jie glanced an inswinging Rausch corner inches wide.

After 25 minutes, having barely approached Dynamo Moscow’s goal, FC Minsk were handed a golden opportunity to take the lead. Zaurbek Pliev fumbled possession and gifted Shramchenko a free run at goal. The winger’s accurate finish gave Sangare no chance.

Two minutes later another Rausch inswinging corner caused problems. Oscar Hiljemark’s acrobatic scissor kick was blocked, but Roman Evgenyev regained possession in the scramble. He edged the ball back to the Danish midfielder to chip a cross past the far post for N’Jie to patiently volley the equaliser into the ground.

Rausch picked out Kirill Panchenko on 35 minutes only to see the latter’s shot blocked, while N’Jie couldn’t convert his carefully-judged low cross on the stroke of half time.

After the break N’Jie reversed roles with Rausch. Charles Kabore won back possession smoothly and played it straight through the middle to the Cameroonian forward to dance his way around three challenges with quick footwork.

Instead of going for goal himself, he slipped it wide to Rausch to shoot himself. His first effort hit a defender’s midriff on the line, but his second attempt from the rebound went wildly over from six yards.

On the hour mark Dynamo had a scare as Rasul Mitsaev - another debutant - got a crucial fingertip touch to turn a one-on-one chipped effort wide. Five minutes later though Hiljemark’s rocket after a one-two with Panchenko cannoned down and back out off the crossbar.

Dynamo play their final winter training match next up on Saturday 22 February against Dinamo Minsk.
