Sochi remained the only unbeaten team at home after 18 matches, but Orenburg was the unexpected side to end the streak, before it they had one win and eight losses in nine away matches this season. First surprise was the long-distance volley from Kirill Kaplenko before the half-time, and after the break the guests got the rhythm. Matias Perez redirect the ball from Ivan Basic free kick, then Basic added a goal himself, and Yury Kovalev sent to the empty net after the ricochet from Sochi defender. This was the biggest Orenburg win in away RPL matches, while Sochi suffered heaviest defeat in top division.

Teams are tied on 28 points, and following two wins in two meeting Orenburg go up to seventh, while Sochi move down to eighth.
