On 21 November 2014 FC Zenit will celebrate 30-anniversary of their first in their history win of the country Champion title. Exactly on this day in 1984 the team coached by Pavel Sadyrin at that time won the USSR Champion title.
One day before the celebration date a friendly match between Zenit-1984 and Dynamo-1982 will be organized in St.Petersburg.
Famous players of Zenit Champion squad will be fielded in this game – Mikhail Biryukov, Yury Zheludkov, Anatoly Davydov, Sergey Dmitriev, Vladimir Klementyev, Boris Chukhlov, Sergey Vedeneev, Arkadiy Afanasyev, Sergey Kuznetsov, Vyacheslav Melnikov, Dmitry Barannik, Valery Zolin, Nikolay Larionov, Nikolay Vorobyev, Yury Gerasimov, Alexander Zakharikov, Konstantin Ivanov, Gennady Timofeev and Igor Komarov.
The following players will come to St.Petersburg with Dynamo squad: Yury Pudyshev, Lyudas Rumbutis, Andrey Zygmantovuch, Georgy Kondratyev, Victor Shishkin, Igor Gurinovich, Victor Sokol, Igor Belov, Yury Trukhan. And Eduard Malofeev will be the coach of the team.
The match will start at 14:00 with free entrance to the stands. On 22 November Zenit-1984 will attend the MD 14 match of the SOGAZ-Russian Football Championship between Zenit and Kuban.
Facts:
— In 1984 21 players of Zenit were fielded. It is interesting, that only three of them were not trainees of Leningrad football (Biryukov, Davydov and Melnikov).
— Moreover, 10 Champions-players of that year were trainees of one youth football school Smena – a unique example in history of the Russian football.
— Mikhail Biryukov in 1984 was awarded as the USSR Best Goalkeeper.
— Six players of Zenit at the same time for the first time were included in the Best 33 list of the season in 1984.
— On 26 August 1983 in the match against Neftchi Baku firward Yury Gerashimov scored the quickest goal in Zenit history – in the 10th second of the game.
