Zhirkov and Kokorin join up with Zenit in Portugal

On the morning of 31 January the newly signed players joined up with the blue-white-sky blues at their training camp

Before the start of morning session Zhirkov and Kokorin were presented the team and went through the usual welcome tunnel and then started training.

Did you feel an understanding with your team mates? 

All teams play, so we began to adjust from the very first match. Of course, there's more to be done, but it's a good starting point. 

Does it mean anything that your first match for Zenit was in the tournament, that you won last year with Dynamo Moscow? 

 I do not know it means anything or not. The main thing is that we won. Hopefully, winning the tournament this time too. 

Was one of the reasons for the move to Zenit to play more in European competition?

Of course, the Champions League is the best tournament and I want to play in it. We will try to win too.

When did you know that you will play 45 minutes in the match and make your debut?

Before the game, André Villas-Boas came and said that we will play some minutes. The result was we played the entire second half. 

Is your physical fitness the same as your new team mates?

We also had a good fitness regime at Dynamo, we practiced a lot, running around. My fitness level is more or less the same.

We've heard that in training you are already taking long shots?

Just there's a small field! We played 5-a-side football.

How does it feel to work with the Hulk? 

He's a real professional player, a real Brazilian. It's great to work with him.
