Valery Karpin leaves Rostov

Valery Karpin has left his post as head coach of FC Rostov after mutual agreement with the club. He signed a contract to become the Russian national team manager last week, and agreed with Rostov club president Artushes Aratyunyants no longer combine the two roles.

Karpin took over the southern club in December 2017, and guided them to a Russian Cup semi-final in 2018/19. The following season he led Rostov to a fifth-placed finish in the Russian Premier Liga to earn a place in the Europa League qualifiers. 

Overall, he took charge of 111 matches, with 39 wins from 101 in the RPL.
