Igor Cherevchenko becomes new Fakel head coach

Fakel Voronezh officially appointed Igor Cherevhenko as new head coach.

Cherevchenko is third manager for Fakel this season. Team started with Vadim Evseev, appointed in May 2023, and earned four points in seven RPL matches. Next, Sergey Tashuev was hired in September, and team got 22 points in 18 league matches, while coach was named RPL Manager of the Month in October.

Cerevchenko will work in RPL as head coach with fourth team. Overall, he spent 117 matches in the league making 47 wins, 30 draws and 39 defeats with Lokomotiv Moscow, Arsenal Tula, and FC Khimki. Under Cherevchenko Lokomotiv won 2014/15 Russian Cup, while Arsenal and Khimki reached their best results in RPL (sixth place for Arsenal in 2018/19 season; eighth place for Khimki in 2020/21 season). Last team to coach was Istiklol Dushanbe in Tajikistan; Cherevchenko led the team to winning the national Tajik League and Cup in 2023.

Fakel go eleventh after 25 league matches having 26 points. In the next match Fakel will visit Sochi on 29 April.
