Russian Football Veterans Bring Flowers to the Unknown Soldier Tomb

On Tuesday, 5 May, on the eve of the Victory Day veterans of the Russian football brought wreath and flowers to the Unknown Soldier Tomb in the Alexandrovskiy Garden.

Legendary Russian and Soviet football players, widows of famous players of the past, FUR President Vitaly Mutko, FUR CEO Alexander Alaev and Russian Football Premier League Top Administration took part in this event organized by the Football Union of Russia.

Nikita Simonyan, Alexey Paramonov, Anatoly Isaev, Alexander Mirzoyan, Boris Kopeykin, Vladimir Salkov, Anzor Kavazashvili, Vladimir Ponomarev, Grigory Yanets, Alexander Averyanov, Valery Reingold, Vyacheslav Varyushin and other merited veterans paid their tribute to those who were killed during War. Besided, widows of famous players came to pay their tribute as well – Zoya Bubukina, OIga Ivakina, Lyubov Khusainova, Elena Bobrova, Olga Maslachenko and others.

"I would like to congratulate everybody on the Victory Day, this is a great holiday. We shall do everything in football in order to keep memory of the people who won. In the RFPL next MD each match will be started with a minute of silence to pay tribute to the heroes", - said Mutko.
