FC Rostov received silver medals for their success n ROSGOSSTRAKH Russian Football Championship season 2015/16.

Rostov Region Governor Vasily Golubev, Head of the FUR Professional Football Department Sergey Kulikov and RFPL Executive Director Sergey Cheban took part in the official awarding ceremony.

The first medal was given to the mother of FC Rostov staff member Timur Ivanov, who died suddenly last January.

Then coaches, staff, players and club administration were awarded. By the way, defender Boris Rotenberg, who had contributed a lot into success of the Yellow-Blues, arrived to the ceremony from Moscow.

- Rostov is a real pride of the whole Don. The club contributed a lot into promotion of Rostov Region in all directions. Last season the team was able to show outstanding and beautiful football, which has left nobody untouched. It is very important, that this success came here on the eve of FIFA World Cup 2018. We are waiting for the good results from the team in the new season, - said the Governor of the region Vasily Golubev.

After the awarding ceremony the Governor of Rostov Region awarded Kurban Berdyev with a medal “For Merit to Rostov Region”, and “For the Glory of the Don Sport” award was given to all the players.

"Speaking about initial history, I came to Rostov due to the friendly relations with those people, who work here. I had a lot of success and failures, but I will remember this season for the rest of my life. Every player of our team played 100% or even 150% of his abilities. I am grateful to the players for such attitude towards their work. I would like to wish to Rostov Region – the region of old and good football traditions – further prosperity” – said Kurban Berdyev.
