ROSGOSSTRAKH RFPL Virtual Football Championship Draw took place on 22 March in Rosgosstrakh Headquarters in Moscow. This tournament is a qualifying stage of world championship EA Sports FIFA 17 Ultimate Team held under auspices of FIFA.

Lokomotiv Moscow player Anton Miranchuk and Miss Premier League Yulduz Dzhumandykova carried out the draw in front of trainees of youth academies of Lokomotiv, PFC CSKA and Spartak. Virtual football players who qualified through the preliminary stages were drawn into four groups as follows:

RFPL Executive Director Sergey Cheban and ROSGOSSTRAKH CEO Dmitry Makarov wished good luck to virtual players in the coming Championship. Sergey Cheban congratulated all those who love football on the new and interesting page in history of the Russian sport, which RFPL opens together with its long term strategic partner – ROSGOSSTRAKH company. Dmitry Makarov said: “ROSGOSSTRAKH has been RFPL partner since 2006. We are happy that today we are extending our partnership also in virtual reality – now both main events of the Russian football will be held under one name – both on-line and off-line ROSGOSSTRAKH RFPL Championship”.

ROSGOSSTRAKH RFPL Championship group stage kicks-off on 31 March in Kazan. Play-off matches as well as the final will be held on 1 April. The winner will take part in regional qualifying competition of  EUROPE SEASON, REGIONAL FINAL.

On 2  April the first international virtual football competition KazanMayorCup 2017 will take place. Two big teams of virtual football players will oppose each other. The winner and prize winners of ROSGOSSTRAKH RFPL Virtual Football Championship, as well as FC Rubin, will play for Russian team. The best teams of Europe will play for the World team (Ajax (Netherlands), Manchester City (England), Valencia (Spain)).
