Sports Ministry of the Russian Federation officially recognized new type of football – virtual football – on the same level as futsal and  beach soccer recognized before (Order of the RF Sports Ministry No 502 of 09.06.2017).

- I am pleased that the Football Union of Russia quickly reacts to modern tendencies of the world sports.  Recognition of virtual football (interactive football) as a kind of football is the result of meticulous work of our colleagues. On behalf of the Football Union of Russia I would like to express our most fervent gratitude to the Football Union of Russia President and FUR ExCo for their fruitful and meticulous work and for active participation in support of this new kind of football, we also would like to thank FIFA for their support. Besides I would like to mention the contribution of the RFPL top administration into development of virtual football, which organized and held several virtual football tournaments.

The Football Union of Russia has already started working on preparation of the first in history official all-Russian mass competition on virtual football (cyber-football). The new type of football development is supposed to be with active support and cooperation of Russian Computer Sports Federation.

A subcommittee dealing with interactive football was founded within the frames of the FUR Committee on different types of football. The work of this subcommittee will be aimed at development of this new type of football.
