Match TV with the support of the Russian Premier League is holding football tournament MATCH PREMIER Cup with participation of Lokomotiv, Spartak, Zenit and Rostov.

«The clubs have been discussing an interesting tournament during winter break in the Premier League. And Qatar was one of the priority countries due to its suitable climate in winter time and perfect infrastructure», – Sergey Pryadkin, RPL President, explained the choice of the Cup venue.

Doha is the best place for off-season preparation due to its ultra-modern infrastructure and comfortable weather – during winter time the temperature seldom goes above +25° С.

«Our countries have got very close now, and for football reasons as well. FIFA World Cup in this country is not far, and we had a lot of contacts at different levels in order to strengthen our football connections. We also discussed this project and got support from Qatar Ambassador in Russia.

The tournament in Doha has a lot of advantages. For the teams, it is a training camp in good conditions. For the broadcaster, it is a chance to make an interesting sports event during winter break. The League considers this tournament as an important opportunity for promotion of our football and clubs abroad.

The tournament in Qatar will take place between 21 and 29 January 2019.
