Akhmat closed their first training camp in Turkey with a 3-1 defeat to Romanian top-flight outfit Botosani. Khalid Kadyrov’s second half goal halved the deficit, but a last-minute penalty sealed the defeat.

Youth team prospects Lechiy Sadulaev and Ilya Moseychuk both came on in midfield for the second half. Sadulaev is a Russia under-20 international who has appeared six times in the Russian Premier League this season, having assisted a goal one minute into his senior debut last campaign. Moseychuk has completed 90 minutes in all but one of Akhmat under-20’s league matches this season.

Akhmat will spend a few days resting back in Grozny before returning for their second of three training camps in Turkey on Friday. They haven’t confirmed opponents for the remaining camps yet.
