Aleksey Gritsaenko scored an added-time winner for Russian Premier Liga side FC Tambov against Shinnik Yaroslavl in the FNL Cup semifinal on Monday. Miguel Cardoso also made his debut for the club after joining on loan from Dynamo Moscow.

Shinnik had the game’s first chance when Dmitry Samoylov swung in a quick cross from the left towards a completely unmarked Aleksandr Ektov, only to see the shot go wide. Their roles reversed later, but Samoylov’s powerful header flew past the post.

Georgi Melkadze responded with a darting run to the byline before aiming a short cross across the six-yard box. Mikhail Kostyukov attacked it at the near post under pressure from a defender without managing to make contact.

Sergey Samodin could only graze Vyacheslav Zinkov’s corner just before a scrappy first half was brought to a close. After the break, FC Tambov cranked up the pressure.

A goalmouth scramble was cleared by Shinnik, before Anton Kilin beat his marker for pace and drew a foul. Valeriu Ciuperca’s low, drilled free kick found its way through to Artem Fedchuk, who beat his man but hit the side netting from close range.

Right at the death, Artem Karasev cut back a firm cross from the byline that was bundled in at the near post by Gritsaenko. FC Tambov will now play FC Khimki in the final on Thursday 27 February.
