InStat RPL Team of the Week Matchday 30

print version

According to InStat data, here is the best RPL XI from matchday 30.

Goalkeeper: Anton Kochenkov (Lokomotiv Moscow)
InStat Index: 354

Lokomotiv finished the season on a high after winning away to Ural Ekaterinburg, thanks partly to Kochenkov keeping a clean sheet. He was kept busy as he blocked nine shots - more than any other keeper - and made three saves, while only one of his 18 passes failed to find its target.

Right-back: Sergey Petrov (FC Krasnodar)
InStat Index: 313

Petrov was the only right-back to register a shot on target, while he also made the most successful key passes (2). No other player in his position made more passes overall, or at a higher success rate.

Left-back: Cristian Ramirez (FC Krasnodar)
InStat Index: 334

Other than helping keep a comfortable clean sheet, Ramirez was equally active going forwards. In fact he and Petrov accounted for two-thirds of all key passes from full-backs. Ramirez also made more dispossessions than any other left-back.

Centre-back: Georgi Dzhikia (Spartak Moscow)
InStat Index: 348

Spartak’s captain was a rock at the back after completing all but two of his 65 attempted passes and winning all three of his aerial challenges. He was also one of only three centre-backs to complete a key pass.

Centre-back: Egor Sorokin (FC Krasnodar)
InStat Index: 307

Although Sorokin was only on the pitch for 19 minutes, he completed all 16 of his attempted passes and won four of his five challenges, including both aerial ones.

Defensive midfield: Ivan Oblyakov (CSKA Moscow)
InStat Index: 370

Oblyakov capped a commanding performance with a well-taken goal to seal CSKA’s 2-0 win at home to FC Tambov. He took three shots on goal - the most in his position - and regained possession five times in the opposition half.

Right midfield: Wanderson (FC Krasnodar)
InStat Index: 341

The Brazilian winger was in unstoppable form as all four of his shots on goal were on target, one of which found the back of the net, while he also drew two fouls. He also regained possession in the opposition half more than any other right midfielder.

Left midfield: Remy Cabella (FC Krasnodar)
InStat Index: 388

Wanderson’s counterpart was equally rampant, scoring with his only shot on target and playing more key passes (4) than all other left midfielders. He drew two fouls and completed four of his five attempted take-ons.

Attacking midfield: Oleg Shatov (Zenit St. Petersburg)
InStat Index: 388

Shatov laid on one goal for his teammates, while also drawing four fouls from the opposition. He completed a joint-high five take-ons for his position, while also making four interceptions in the attacking half.

Striker: Marcus Berg (FC Krasnodar)
InStat Index: 407

Berg’s direct contributions were obvious; two goals and two assists meant he was involved in all four Krasnodar goals. Three of his four attempted key passes were successful, while all three of his passes into the area found their target.

Striker: Jordan Larsson (Spartak Moscow)
InStat Index: 296

Larsson converted his penalty to win the game for Spartak away to Rubin Kazan, while also completing comfortably more passes (30) than any other striker. He also made two successful passes into the penalty area.
