Zenit St. Petersburg striker Artem Dzyuba was named RPL Player of the Season following a vote among team captains and coaches, experts of MATCH Premier TV channel and representatives of the media.

Dzyuba was also chosen in first place by Russian national team head coach Stanislav Cherchesov.

Twelve players were nominated, including three of Dzyuba's teammates - Douglas Santos, Wilmar Barrios and Sardar Azmoun. The 31-year-old forward not only won the league title again, but also provided the most RPL assists with 13. He also scored 17 goals, a repeat of his best RPL tally: in the 2013/14 season, he scored the same number with Rostov. In the top scorers’ race, Dzyuba led from March until the last matchday, until his Zenit teammate Sardar Azmoun drew level with him thanks to the goal against Rostov.
