Russian Cup elite round draw will take place on 4 September

The draw of the 2020/21 Russian Cup new elite group stage will take place on 4 September at 11 am CET.

The event will be broadcasted by Russian Football Union YouTube channel.

The special guests of the ceremony are:

  • Russian Football Union general secretary Aleksandr Alayev
  • deputy general director of tournament title sponsor Betcity Nikolay Oganezov
  • Russian Premier Liga president Sergey Pryadkin
  • Football National League president Igor Efremov
  • Professional Football League president Andrey Sokolov
  • ex-Russian national team captain Aleksey Smertin

The elite round was included instead of the two play-off stages – Round of 64 and Round of 32. Each of three professional leagues – RPL, FNL and PFL – will be represented by 10 teams. They will be divided into 10 groups with 3 competitors in each one. Every participant will play 2 matches during the group stage, and RPL teams will play both games as visitors.

The spots for the draw:

RPL: Spartak Moscow, Arsenal Tula, FC Ufa, Rubin Kazan, Ural Ekaterinburg, FC Sochi, Akhmat Grozny, FC Tambov, Rotor Volgograd, FC Khimki.

FNL: Tekstilschik Ivanovo, Veles Moscow, SKA Khabarovsk, Krylia Sovetov Samara, Enisey Krasnoyarsk, Shinnik Yaroslavl, Dynamo Bryansk, FC Orenburg, FC Nizhniy Novgorod, FC Chertanovo.

PFL: Mashuk KMV Pyatigorsk, Dynamo Stavropol, Chernomorets Novorossiysk, FC Leningradets, Rodina Moscow, Salyut Belgorod, Znamya Noginsk, Volga Ulyanovsk, Zvezda Perm, Zenit Irkutsk.

10 winners of the groups will qualify to the round of 16 and will join there six teams, who are the competitors of the Champions League and Europa League this season. The play-off stages will consist of one head-to-head match.

The current Russian Cup holder is Zenit St. Petersburg.
