2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers: South America

Colombia 0-3 Uruguay

Zenit midfielder Wilmar Barrios started the match at the main roster of the Colombians, but was substituted in the 31st minute with his side 1-0 down. In the second half, Uruguay scored twice more and brought about the hosts’ first defeat in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Colombia are in seventh place on four points. On 18 November, Carlos Queiroz's team will meet Ecuador.

Brazil 1-0 Venezuela

Akhmat defender Wilker Angel played the entire match for Venezuela. The visitors conceded the only goal in the 66th minute from Roberto Firmino and suffered their third defeat in three qualifying matches. Venezuela are second-bottom in the table and remain the only team not to score a single goal after three matchdays. On 18 November, the Venezuelans will host Chile in Caracas.

2021 Africa Cup of Nations

Group L qualifier: Nigeria 4-4 Sierra Leone

CSKA striker Chidera Ejuke played his second match for Nigeria, coming on as a substitute in the 78th minute. After just 29 minutes the Nigerians had cruised into a 4-0 lead, and were still 4-2 up when Ejuke came on. The visitors scored twice in the last 10 minutes and earned a draw - the first between the two since 1977. Nigeria remain top of the group with seven points, and the teams will meet in Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone, on 17 November.

Friendly match

Japan 1-0 Panama

Rostov midfielder Kento Hashimoto was named in the Japanese starting lineup and was replaced at half-time. It was his first match for the national team since December 2019, when he took part in the East Asian Championships. The match was held in Graz, and the nominal hosts scored the winning goal in the 61st minute. Takumi Minamino of Liverpool converted a penalty. On 17 November, Japan will play their second friendly match in Austria against Mexico.

2021 UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifiers

Group 1: Armenia vs Sweden - match cancelled

The meeting was supposed to take place in Cyprus, but it didn’t due to positive coronavirus tests in the Armenian national team and difficulties associated with the departure of players called up to replace them abroad. Among the Sweden squad are Rostov players Armin Gigovic and Pontus Almquist. The Swedes are third in the group with 15 points, and on 18 November, in the final round of qualifiers, they will play away against Italy, who lead the table with 19 points.
