Viktor Ponedelnik, the scorer of the 1960 European Championship-winning goal, and former Rostselmash, SKA Rostov-on-don and USSR national team player, has died at the age of 84.

He played for Rostselmash from 1956 to 1958, and from 1959 to 1965 for SKA Rostov-on-Don. For the USSR national team, the striker played 29 games and scored 20 goals, one of which won the 1960 European Championship final.
