The final Champions League match for the RPL teams ended with Lokomotiv’s loss to the last season tournament winners. After a goalless first half Bayern scored twice thanks to Niklas Sule’s header and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s goal.

Two Lokomotiv youngsters played in the Champions League for the first time. 19-year-old midfielder Nikita Iosifov, who played three matches in the RPL, had one shot on target soon after making the first ball touch, and 19-year-old defender Aleksandr Silyanov made his debut for the first team after entering the pitch for the last two minutes.

The second group match FC Salzburg vs Atletico Madrid ended with Spanish side 2-0 win.

Bayern top Group A on 16 points, while Lokomotiv finish bottom on three points. Bayern and Atletico entered the Champions League last 16, while Salzburg moved to the Europa League play-off.
