Fedor Smolov scored one goal - seconds after coming off the bench - and set up another on his first appearance since returning from injury to spark a late win for Lokomotiv. After bending a spectacular finish into the far top corner, his good work at the byline saw him pull back a chance for Murilo to slide in a second.

With five minutes remaining, substitute Dmitry Barinov curled a delightful ball into the path of the onrushing Rifat Zhemaletdinov to guide a first-time volley past Artur Nigmatullin.

Arsenal stay 15th on 14 points, while Lokomotiv stay sixth, but move level with Rostov on 34 points.
