RPL and La Liga hold conference on modern match management

On 23 March, a joint conference of the Russian Premier Liga and Spain's LaLiga was held, dedicated to the organization of football matches in modern conditions. The event was held via video link. It was moderated from the RPL office by the deputy head of the international department, Sergey Alekseev, and the representative of LaLiga in Russia and Belarus, Jose Carlos Loaisa Gallego. The conference lasted more than seven hours.

LaLiga representatives made presentations on the following topics:

- Match manager and its functions
- Working with broadcasters
- SGA-Spectator control system and stadium management
- Ensuring security at matches
- Calendar.

On behalf of the RPL, the head of the match management group, Dmitry Soldatkin, explained the Covid-19 protocols, while Deputy Director for Security Aleksandr Safonov spoke in detail about the use of QR codes at RPL matches. The head of the competition department, Alexander Polyakov, shared his experience in creating a calendar for the season in Russian conditions.

The Spanish colleagues particularly noted the safety standards that allow RPL matches to be held with spectators in the context of a pandemic.

Among those in attendance were managers and employees of the RPL and LaLiga, as well as representatives of the RPL clubs, who could ask the speakers questions throughout the conference.
