On 3 July, Zenit, Lokomotiv and Dynamo played friendly matches in Austria in preparation for the 2021/22 season.

Zenit 0-0 Schalke

Sergey Semak's team played their first friendly of the off-season. It remained goalless, thanks largely to 18-year-old Zenit goalkeeper Daniil Odoevsky who deflected a penalty in the 65th minute. Zenit youth team midfielder Yaroslav Mikhailov played 63 minutes for Schalke on trial for the Germans. On 7 July, the Blue-White-Sky blue team will meet Werder.

Lokomotiv 0-0 Rapid Vienna

The Railwaymen started their second Austrian training camp and drew with the runners up of Austria. Before the start of the season, Marko Nikolic's team will play three more friendlies, with Greek side Aris up next on 7 July.

Dynamo 0-3 LASK

The Blue-White team played their second match in two days, having beaten AEL of Cyprus on 2 July, and lost to Austria's Conference League qualifiers. The Austrians scored all three goals past Ivan Budachev by the 40th minute. This match was the last for Sandro Schwartz's team at their training camp.
