On 1 September, 2022 World Cup qualifiers were held involving several Russian Premier Liga players.
Europe
Group D
Kazakhstan 2-2 Ukraine
Akhmat defender Marat Bystrov played a full match and CSKA midfielder Baktiyor Zaynutdinov came on in the 60th minute for the hosts. By the 90th minute, the teams had scored one apiece, and in added time they both scored once more, the hosts equalizing in the sixth minute added on.
Kazakhstan prop up the group with two points. On 4 September, Talgat Baysufinov's team will meet Finland in Helsinki.
France 1-1 Bosnia and Herzegovina
Rostov defender Dennis Hadzikadunic played 90 minutes for Bosnia in Strasbourg. The visitors opened the scoring thanks to Edin Dzeko's goal before conceding to Antoine Griezmann, and from the 51st minute they played with a man advantage as Jules Kunde was sent off for France.
Bosnia picked up their second point in the qualifiers. On 4 September, they play a friendly against Kuwait, and three days later they will meet Kazakhstan in 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Group G
Turkey 2-2 Montenegro
Rubin midfielder Sead Haksabanovic was named in the Montenegro starting line-up and spent 78 minutes on the pitch. The visitors were trailing 2-0 by the 31st minute, but pulled one back before the break and equalized in the seventh minute added on.
Montenegro are third in the group with seven points after four matches. On 4 September, they will play in Eindhoven against the Netherlands, who are also on seven points.
Group H
Slovenia 1-1 Slovakia
CSKA midfielder Jaka Bijol started the match on the bench for the hosts and came on as a substitute in the 83rd minute. Slovenia and Slovakia are Russia’s opponents in the group: after four games, Slovakia are third with six points, while Slovenia are two points behind them.
On 4 September in Ljubljana, Slovenia will host Malta - who defeated Cyprus 3-0 at home - and in Bratislava Slovakia will meet Croatia, who drew 0-0 with Russia.

Group F
Egypt 1-0 Angola
Rostov defender Bastos played a full match in Cairo as captain, but Angola ended the game in defeat. They will face Libya on matchday two on 7 September.
Group I
Guinea-Bissau 1-1 Guinea
Lokomotiv forward Francois Kamano put the visitors ahead in the seventh minute with his seventh goal in 35 matches for Guinea, and played the full 90 minutes. Guinea will play their next match against Morocco on 6 September.
In the second stage of African 2022 World Cup qualifiers, 40 teams are divided into 10 groups of four. The ten group winners will advance to the next stage, where they will be paired off in two-legged knockout ties for direct places at the World Cup finals.
