On 8 October, the RPL election commission has been completing the registration of candidates to participate in the election of the new president of the League.

As of the deadline for nominating candidates, the only registered participant is the chairman of the RFU Refereeing Committee, Ashot Khachaturyants, who was nominated by a number of AFC RPL member clubs. 

On 5 October, at General Meeting, Khachaturyants was unanimously elected acting president of the League in connection with the departure of Sergey Pryadkin, who had led the organization since 2007.

The election of the new president of the RPL is scheduled for 22 November.
