Sebai settles tight battle in Grozny

Ural’s stubborn resistance was finally broken with 20 minutes to go after a tight encounter left them bottom of the table, and gave Akhmat three points’ breathing space from the drop zone.

Senin Sebai was left free to rise highest and head home the only goal of the game from Vladislav Karapuzov’s deep swinging cross. Arsen Adamov and Denis Kulakov were caught out as the Ivorian had a relatively simple task to power home the ball in, which in truth should probably have been closed down by two defenders watching Karapuzov.

Akhmat stay go 10th on 15 points, while Ural remain bottom on nine points.
