RPL champions Zenit St. Petersburg, Russian Cup winner Spartak Moscow will be the participants of 2022 Russian Super Cup.

Zenit reached the Super Cup match fourth time in a row and tenth time in tournament history. In the past three seasons St. Petersburg side faced Lokomotiv Moscow getting two wins in 2020 and 2021 and one defeat in 2019. Zenit are six-time Super Cup winners, the second result in the tournament after CSKA Moscow, who won the trophy seven times.

Spartak Moscow earned right to play in the Super Cup fifth time, it’s their first participate since 2017. That year the Red-Whites got their only win defeating Lokomotiv Moscow.

The date and venue for the 2022 Super Cup will be confirmed later by RPL and RFU.
