RPL General meeting approved Aleksandr Aleksandrovich as interim head of the league.

Ashot Khachaturyants, who stepped down as RPL president earlier today, recommended Aleksandr Alaev’s candidacy. General meeting confirmed Khachaturyants’ departure.

Since 2012 Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Alaev has been working for the Russian Football Union. Previously he held positions as executive director and general director, he had been taking role as RFU interim president since December 2017 till February 2019, after he became general secretary of organization. On 25 February 2021, Alaev was elected as Football National League president.
