Top and bottom of the RPL standings met at Ekaterinburg Arena, and in the first half winless Ural successfully resisted against the champions. Even Eric Bicfalvi was very close to give a lead to his team, but Mikhail Kerzhakov made great save from the bottom corner.

After the break the visitors from St. Petersburg showed their strength, and it started with Malcom, who was the first one on the rebound after Ilya Pomazun save and extended goal streak to three games. Next break away ended with Wendel passing to Andrey Mostovoy and his empty netter, and then Malcom rushed again to the box and hit the brace. Another Brazilian to get the goal was Rodrigao, who got the ball after corner kick and smashed it to the net to earn first goal as Zenit player.

Zenit get 17 points and move Spartak from the first place before their clash in the next matchday, while Ural stay in the relegation zone with one point.
