Rostov midfielder Mohammad Mohebi appeared in Iran match against Syria at Asian Cup in Qatar.

Iran won the Round of 16 match in penalty shootout. After regular and extra time, the score was 1-1, and Team Melli reached penalties with ten men, as Mehdi Taremi earned two yellow cards in the second half. Despite it, Iran beat Syria 5-3 in the shootout.

Mohebi entered the field on 63rd minute and got a second yellow card at the tournament, the first was shown in the group stage. Rostov player did not have an attempt in the penalty shootout. Syria did not put CSKA youth teams’ goaltender Maksim Sarraf on the squad list.

Iran became the last team to enter Asian Cup quarterfinals, and their next opponents are Japan, whom they will face on 3 February.
