Last season UAE champions played second match at the tournament, while three-time Kazakhstan Premier League winners just made their debut in Abu Dhabi. Marko Nikolic’s team made only two shots on target, both became goals, thanks to Igor Jesus. Brazilian forward scored header to break the deadlock and beat Kairat goalkeeper from short distance in the second half. Kairat tried their chances mostly with long shots, but none of their 17 shots turned into a goal.
