Last year Winter Cup winners from Spartak just started their title defense and did it unsuccessfully. It was tied game, when Aleksandr Maksimenko turned ball over far away from net, and Evgeny Chernov got empty net goal from long distance. Two minutes later Maksimenko was forced to bring the ball from the net again, as Nikolay Komlichenko scored in parachute style, this is his second goal here in Abu Dhabi. One more goal came from distance, and it was Kirill Schetinin twisting the ball to the far top corner.

Rostov became unanimous top of the standings with six points after two matches, while Spartak will go against Shabab Al Ahli on Friday as bottom team of the competition.
