As First League Week 33 came to an end, two teams to earn direct RPL promotion were determined.

FC Khimki and Dynamo Makhachkala will finish at top two. Khimki are first with 63 points, while Dynamo go second two points behind, but five points above Akron Togliatti, who will remain in the promotion playoff matches zone.

Khimki made RPL direct promotion third time. Firstly, the Red-Blacks played in the top division since 2007 to 2009, then participated in 2020/21, 2021/22, 2022/23 season. The best result for the club was eighth place in 2020/21 season. Khimki head coach is Andrey Talalaev, who took the duties in April 2023, when club was still a part of RPL.

Dynamo Makhachkala got first ever promotion; they are second club to represent Dagestan Republic in the league after Anzhi. Club firstly existed sine 1927 to 2007, then re-founded in 2021 at FC Makhachkala basis. Dynamo won Group 1 of Second League in their first season, next finished eighth in First League. Team spent first part of 2023/24 with two-time RPL champion Kurban Berdyev, he was replaced by Khasanbi Bidzhiev in February.
