Magomed Adiev hired as new Akhmat head coach

Akhmat Grozny officially announced Magomed Adiev as new head coach after the departure of Miroslav Romaschenko.

46-year-old coach will keep the job as head coach of Kazakhstan national team, where he has been working since 2022. Adiev is Grozny native, he joined the club twice as player; in 2004 he spent one season winning Russian Cup and national first division, then he came back in 2006 and played three seasons.

As coach Adiev also worked in Grozny club; he was head coach of Terek second team from 2013 to 2017, then was a member of first team coaching staff under Mikhail Galaktionov, Igor Ledyakhov (both in 2018) and Igor Shalimov (in 2019).

As head coach at club level Adiev worked with Volga Nizhny Novgorod U-21 team, Terek-2, Legion Dynamo Makhachkala, Anzhi Makhachkala, Chayka, and Shakhter Karaganda. Under him Kazakhstan national team won group in League C of UEFA Nations League and for the first time reached European Championship qualifying playoffs, where lost to Greece in Path C semifinals.

Adiev will be third head coach for Akhmat this season, who started season with Sergey Tashuev and then hired Miroslav Romaschenko in August. After Week 22 Grozny team goes twelfth in RPL standings with 20 points. Next match Akhmat will play against Lokomotiv at Akhmat Arena on Sunday 7 April.
