Ural qualifies to the Cup of Russia final for the first time in history

The second semi-final match of the Cup of Russia was played in Ekaterinburg between FC Ural and Rubin on Thursday, 6 April. The match ended – 2:1.

The match started with a minute of silence to pay tribute to those who had been killed at St.Petersburg metro terrorist attack.

The opener was scored in the 13th minute by Vladimir Ilyin. Jonathas equalized before the halftime. Later he had a chance to extend the gap due to the awarded penalty, but the shot did not get to the aim. The final score was fixed by Alexander Novikov, who scored in the second half.

Ural is going to play in the Cup of Russia final for the first time in its history. The game will be against Lokomotiv and it will take place at Fisht Stadium in Sochi on 2 May.
