Jano Ananidze leaves Spartak Moscow

print version

Jano Ananidze and Spartak Moscow have mutually agreed to terminate the player’s contract with immediate effect. Since his debut in 2009 as a teenager, Ananidze has only played 146 times and scored 16 goals.

The 27-year-old Georgian midfielder came through Spartak’s youth system after joining from Dynamo Kyiv’s setup in 2007 and went on to win the Russian Premier League title and Russian Super Cup. He has scored seven goals in 45 caps for his country so far.

Injury problems have plagued Ananidze’s career, especially in recent seasons. In 2017/18 he was sidelined by ankle, knee and cruciate ligament injuries, after which he went out on loan to Krylia Sovetov Samara. Another knee injury cut short his temporary stay in Samara.
