Dmitriy Efremov signs for Ural Ekaterinburg

Former CSKA Moscow midfielder Dmitriy Efremov has signed a contract with Ural Ekaterinburg, the club’s press service has announced. He joins as a free agent on an 18-month contract after spending seven years with the Armymen.

Efremov has been with the squad at their training camp in Paphos, and has already played twice for the senior side and twice for FC Ural II in the FNL Cup. He has recovered from a cruciate ligament injury that has kept him on the sidelines for most of this season.

The 24-year-old has made 50 appearances for his country at all levels from under-16 right through to senior team, for which his sole cap came five years ago. He has played 54 Russian Premier Liga matches for CSKA and a further 22 while on loan at Orenburg.
