Claesson and Cabella lead Krasnodar to win over PAOK in the Champions League play-off round

Goals: Krasnodar – Claesson (39, pen), Cabella (70); PAOK – Pelkas (32).

Just six minutes after the kick-off the visitors got the penalty due to the handball by Caio, but Matvey Safonov denied the shot from Dimitris Pelkas. Nevertheless it was the PAOK captain who scored in the middle of the first half. Seven minutes later hosts stroke back with Viktor Claesson’s goal from the penalty spot following the foul on Remy Cabella.

French midfielder scored game-winner in the second half, when he finished into the empty net after Marcus Berg threw the ball over the PAOK keeper.

The clashes in the Champions League play-off round consist of two legs. The second meeting between PAOK and Krasnodar will take place on 30 September at Salonika. Before the trip to Greece Murad Musaev’s side will meet RPL 4th team FC Sochi in matchday 9 clash on 26 September.
