print version

Arsenal Tula 1-2 Spartak Moscow
Monday 3 May, Arsenal Stadium

Goals: Arsenal - Kutepov (OG 45); Spartak - Sobolev (21), Larsson (76)
Man of the Match: Victor Moses (Spartak)

Spartak capitalised on Champions League rivals Lokomotiv’s humbling yesterday to return to the top two with a hard-fought win over Arsenal Tula. Aleksandr Sobolev thumped in his 13th goal of the season after 20 minutes from Victor moses’ cross, but the Red-Whites were pegged back on the stroke of half time by a Ilya Kutepov own goal.

As the game crept into the final quarter of an hour, Jordan Larsson was on hand to side-foot home a well-worked team goal - the winner also supplied by Moses - and secure all three points.

Arsenal stay 13th on 23 points, while Spartak jump back up to second on 53 points.

Next RPL fixtures: Saturday 8 May - Arsenal Tula vs Rubin Kazan; Monday 10 May - Spartak Moscow vs FC Khimki
