N’Jie’s Cameroon and Konate’s Burkina Faso reach Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals

On 29 January, two Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals were held involving RPL players.

Gambia 0-2 Cameroon

Host team Cameroon beat Gambia in the quarter-finals, and Dynamo striker Clinton N'jie came on as a substitute in the 81st minute. In the semi-finals, Cameroon will play the winner of Egypt vs Morocco on 3 February.

Burkina Faso 1-0 Tunisia

Burkina Faso also reached the semi-finals thanks to a narrow victory over the Tunisia. Akhmat striker Mohamed Konate played 19 minutes, but Rubin’s Tunisian defender Montassar Talbi missed the quarter-final match due to a positive coronavirus test. On 2 February, Burkina Faso will play the winner of Senegal vs Equatorial Guinea.
