print version

Rubin Kazan 1-0 Arsenal Tula
Sunday 24 April, Ak Bars Arena

Goal: Rubin - Lomovistky (22)
Man of the Match: Vitaly Lisakovich (Rubin Kazan)

Kazan welcomed two sides with long streaks without wins, and they were Rubin, whose streak came to an end. Vladislav Ignatyev started for Kazan as captain for the first time, but his predecessor Vitaly Lisakovich played a huge role in scoring the only goal. His shot was saved by Mikhail Levashov, and Aleksandr Lomovitsky, the former Tula gunner, was the first one on a rebound to score. The midfielder netted his first goal for Rubin.

As Arsenal failed to equalise, their winless streak reached nine matches. On the other side Leonid Slutsky and his team celebrated the first win since the March trip to Grozny and the first clean sheet since October 1-0 win against CSKA.

Rubin go 11th on 29 points, while Arsenal stay bottom on 21 points.

Next RPL fixtures: Saturday 30 April - Rubin Kazan vs Sochi; Monday 2 May - Arsenal Tula vs Nizhny Novgorod
