Spartak score three and earn all three points in Ekaterinburg

print version

Ural Ekaterinburg 1-3 Spartak Moscow
Saturday 7 May, Ekaterinburg Arena

Goals: Ural - Goglichidze (55); Spartak - Nicholson (11, 26), Moses (30)
Man of the Match: Victor Moses (Spartak)

It took half an hour for Spartak to get a comfortable lead at Ekaterinburg Arena, and it helped to earn a second win in a row. Shamar Nicholson broke the deadlock scoring a header from a Quincy Promes corner kick, later Victor Moses’ breakthrough led to the second Jamaican goal, getting him a second brace in the RPL this spring. In four minutes Moses earned a goal himself running through the box and pulling the ball between Ilya Pomazun’s legs.

Ural started the second half better, as Leo Goglichidze supported the attack and scored his first ever RPL goal. Eric Bicfalvi was close to extend his goal streak to three games, but his shot from the free kick went high. So the short Ural winning streak came to an end, while Spartak kept the lead and moved forward to the Cup semi-final against FNL side Enisey.

Ural remain 14th on 27 points, while Spartak go eighth on 37 points.

Next RPL fixtures: Sunday 15 May - Ural Ekaterinburg vs Rubin Kazan; Spartak Moscow vs Zenit St. Petersburg
