print version

Lokomotiv Moscow 3-3 Dynamo Moscow
Saturday 14 May, RZD Arena

Goals: Lokomotiv - Jedvaj (28), Kuchta (65), Kerk (72); Dynamo - Smolov (10), Zakharyan (33), Fomin (pen 38)
Man of the Match: Arsen Zakharyan (Dynamo)

The Railwaymen came at the final home game of the season without any chances to rise up to the medal zone, while Dynamo was set up to move Sochi down from the second place. The visitors started well, as Fedor Smolov intercepted a pass from Guilherme and capitalized his moment. Another good thing to notice is that the former Lokomotiv player did not celebrate the goal, his twelth this season.

A Lokomotiv answer came from the corner, when Nair Tiknizyan cross met Tin Jedvaj’s head and flew past Anton Shunin. But ten minutes later the score turned worse for the hosts. Firstly, Arsen Zakharyan beat Guiherme with a wonderful shot to the far angle. Secondly, Smolov earned a penalty shot, which was taken and scored by Daniil Fomin, who now has seven shots scored from seven attempts. For the first time in his top flight career Fomin has ten goals in one season.

Following the half-time, Lokomotiv brought more power to the attack, putting Wilson Isidor and Jan Kuchta instead of Francois Kamano and Anton Miranchuk, who are getting in shape after injuries. So new forces made the result. Kuchta beat Shunin on a breakaway, getting an assist from Girano Kerk and scoring for the first time since March. Isidor’s cross seven minutes later, being tipped by Kuchta, led to a Kerk’s equaliser.

Lokomotiv remain sixth on 45 points, while Dynamo go back second on 53 points, and the battle for silver medals will continue in the final matchday clash against Sochi.
