In the previous home game against Fakel the Armymen put four goals in the opponents’ net, and they did the same with Akhmat after coming back at VEB Arena. It seems CSKA got comfortable lead, while were scoring three goals in six minutes. Fedor Chalov started things, when he shot with one touch after corner kick assist from Jesus Medina. Later two pass combination including Igor Akinfeev and Igor Diveev was finished by Kirill Nababkin, who never scored in RPL since November 2015. Next Jorge Carrascal scored the goal and increased the lead to three-goal. Akhmat answered with one goal after beautiful shot to the top corner by Mohamed Konate.

Another surprise from visitors came in the half-time, Mikhail Oparin came for Giorgi Shelia to make Akhmat debut and play first league game since 2018, when he represented Tosno. Another substitutes, Ivan Oleynikov and Bernard Berisha, made the Grozny side close to comeback after Berisha scored from Oleynikov assist. But CSKA stood firm, and Medina brought back two-goal lead with another masterpiece shot to the top corner.

CSKA come to third and tie Spartak on 13 points, while Akhmat go eighth with eight points.
