RPL Matchday 9
Ural Ekaterinburg 2-0 Torpedo Moscow
Sunday 11 September, Ekaterinburg Arena

Goals: Ural – Bicfalvi (70, 83)
Man of the Match: Eric Bicfalvi (Ural)

Teams from relegation zone battled at Ekaterinburg Arena for the first win in the RPL. Both sides signed multiple players in the transfer window deadline, but only Mikhail Caimacov made the start for Torpedo. Viktor Goncharenko used Oston Orunov, Lazar Randjelovic and Rai Vloet as substitutes, also Denis Kulakov came back on the field in the final minutes, it’s his first game since December 2021. Igor Savic and Stefan Sapic made their debuts for the Black-Whites in the second half.

As Ilya Pomazun was injured, 20-year-old Nikita Alekseev made his RPL debut, previously he kept clean sheet in the Cup fixture against Sochi. New match became a challenge for Alekseev, as his foul against David Karaev led to penalty in the second half, but young goaltender saved the shot. Then Eric Bicfalvi started his show breaking the deadlock with long shot and scoring the header from Mingiyan Beveev’s assist, it took 13 minutes for Ural captain to make a brace and get first win for his team in the league.

Ural go 14th on four points, while winless Torpedo are bottom with one point.

Next RPL fixtures: Saturday 17 September – Ural vs Akhmat; Torpedo vs CSKA
