Saturday 22 October, Central Stadium of Trade Unions, Voronezh

Goals: Fakel – Gongadze (pen 90+7); Rostov – Glebov (50)
Sent off: Fakel – Dmitriev (44)
Man of the Match: Sergey Pesyakov (Rostov)

Two teams, good on set pieces, met in Voronezh, and this factor could be not avoided in this game. Previously Fakel were awarded with one penalty, and now they got two against Rostov, who came to the spot ten times, most in RPL. Roman Akbashev was tackled in the box but Maksim Maksimov could not beat Sergey Pesyakov, and despite Irakly Kvekveskiri scored on the rebound, it was disallowed, because Georgian player ran to the box, before Maksimov took the shot. The hosts were upset again, when VAR checked Oleg Dmitriev’ tackle against Nikolay Komlichenko, and the midfielder was sent off after review.

Rostov used one-man advantage immediately after the half-time, and their goal was fully made by Danil Glebov, the captain slipped through the defenders and sent the ball to the far corner. Ten-man Fakel made the pressure in the final minutes, and it brought them second penalty, as Evgeny Chernov touched the ball with his hand. Georgy Gongadze saved a point for Voronezh, and team’s streak of draws reached five matches.

Fakel move to 13th with 12 points, while Rostov go second on 26 points, as CSKA and Spartak will play their fixtures on Sunday.

Next RPL fixtures: Friday 28 October – Orenburg vs Fakel; Saturday 29 October – Akhmat vs Rostov
