print version

RPL Matchday 24
Ural Ekaterinburg 1-3 FC Rostov
Sunday 23 April, Ekaterinburg Arena

Goals: Ural – Miskic (80); Rostov – Komlichenko (19, 48), Osipenko (pen 90)
Man of the Match: Nikolay Komlichenko (Rostov)

Earlier this season Rostov suffered from Ural in both tournaments getting home defeat in autumn and losing on aggregate in Russian Cup play-offs. First keys to the end of the unlucky streak were Maksim Osipenko and Nikolay Komlichenko, defender made breakthrough to the penalty area, and striker caught the bounce to beat Ilya Pomazun. Next, Komlichenko scored again from the rebound, and despite Mingiyan Beveev cleared the ball, it completely crossed the line, so VAR gave the goal to Rostov and brace to Komlichenko.

Danijel Miskic scored a header on the corner kick to cut the opponents’ lead, but Rostov confirmed the win through penalty, it extended their record to 15 earned attempts this season. Osipenko added goal to virtual assist on Komlichenko and kept Rostov unbeaten for sixth straight game.

Rostov still second on 49 points, while Ural, beaten in five last matches, are eleventh with 25 points.
