The first dangerous moment in the game was created by railwaymen. Senijad Ibricic made a swift dash with the ball and passed it to Dmitriy Syhev, who was been in the middle of AEK penalty area. The addressee didn't get the ball, but Alberto Zapater faced the ball on the penalty area line and strongly kicked. AEK goalkeeper Giannis Arabatzis hardly forwarded the ball to the corner.
AEK answer was even more dangerous. Cameroonian forward Leo Belek found himself one on one with Guilherme, but Brazilian goalkeeper rescued the team.
After this episode the lull happened in the match. However before the half-time Lokomotiv had a few chances to score, but didn`t realize them.
As soon as second half had started railwaymen scored finally. Viktor Obinna passed through AEK defender and lobbed the ball to Sychev, who forwarded it to the net by head.
