Lokomotiv confidently beat Norwegian vice champion

print version

Unlike in the previous friendly against Real Linense, this time the Red-Greens' squad was almost optimal. The central axis was made up of the trio Tigorev-Glushakov-Torbinsky, the flanks were covered by Obinna and Caicedo, and N'Doye played a lone striker.

Lokomotiv totally controlled the game in the first half. In the 14th minute, Victor Obinna managed a perfect cross from a corner. The ball found the head of Jan Durica who sent it home scoring a cracker.

This goal brought some temporary peace into the game, with the ball staying in the middle of the pitch for most of the time. Lokomotiv was stronger in possession being cautious about possible counter attacks which were, although, dismantled by Durica.

Ten minutes before the break Lokomotiv held another master class for Strømsgodset's defence. Tigorev fought the ball back right in frony of the opponents' box and sent forward Caicedo who dribbled the defenders and the keeper and doubled the lead. Three minutes later the Ecuadorian assisted in another attack, setting up for Torbinsky. Dmitry's shot was blocked but Obinna was first to the ball and hammered it in.

The second half was much poorer in events. Lokomotiv continued controlling the ball, with the sub Dmitry Tarasov cementing the central area.

The Railwaymen also kept pressing the opponents at their goal but didn't make it to a scoring opportunity.

In the second half Slaven Bilic let play almost all of his subs, including three young talents: Kamil Mullin, Alexey Miranchuk and Sandro Tsveiba.

As a result, Lokomotiv have secured a flawless victory, the first one this year, the club's official site says.
