During 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil at Modern Art Museum - Museu de Arte Moderna - in Rio-de-Janeiro Russian Football House was arranged, the house which is difficult to be imagined without Dynamo Moscow, as the official website of the club informs.
And the case is not only that the representation of white-and-blue team in the National Team of Russia at this 20th World Cup is of majority. But it was Dynamo which was the first to present Britain football to our country in 1945, and in 1957 they were the first to reach Brazil – the most titled football country in the future, which became the synonym of the number one game in the whole world.
When they speak about Dynamo in the Latin America, the first thing they say is the name of the Best Goalkeeper of the XX century – Lev Yashin. The monument to the symbol of our club and all Russian football, made by Alexander Rukavishnikov, had been installed in Petrovskiy park at the end of the last century. Now the same monument – smaller size replica of the one in Moscow – was unveiled in Rio-de-Janeiro.
The official unveiling ceremony in which FUR President Nikolay Tolsnykh, Head of Physical Culture and Sports Department of Moscow Government, Russian Olympic Committee ExCo member Alexey Vorobyev, Deputy Executive Director of FC Dynamo Moscow Alexey Smertin, author of the Brasilian version of the monument Mario Pintagi and World Champion of 1970 with the National Team of Brazil Carlos Alberto Torres took part was organized on 20 June at the Russian House.
“Unveiling of the monument to Lev Yashin in Rio-de-Janeiro is a very remarkable event for Moscow”, underlined Alexey Vorobyev. – “We are happy that a small part of Moscow is in Rio now. I would like to thank Boris Rotenberg, who brought new life into Dynamo. With him white-and-blue team will be in the leading positions and the name of the club will be vibrating in the whole world in the same way it is vibrating in Rio-de-Janeiro today!”
Alexey Smertin, in his turn, remarked: “The name of Lev Yashin symbolize not only the glorious history of Dynamo Moscow, but the whole Russian football. It is a big honour for me to be present here in Rio at the ceremony of unveiling the monument to the great athlete. And who else, if not Dynamo, could be a part of the Russian House in Brazil…”
After the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil is over the monument to Lev Yashin will be handed to the Modern Arts Museum, and so far – there are Dynamo days in the Russian House. Supporters of different teams are happy to participate in different contests, they watch matches of the World Cup and in the intervals – videos about Dynamo Moscow club and its legend goalkeeper. Commemorative souvenirs and presents are waiting for the participants, and on Saturday, 21 June, Alexey Smertin will have his master class. Besides, it is possible to purchase Dynamo attributes and souvenirs specially dedicated to Lev Yashin.
