Ufa announce appointment of Rashid Rakhimov as head coach.
The terms of the 55-year-old manager’s deal have not been disclosed. Rakhimov's last team was Akhmat Grozny, where he worked from September 2018 to September 2019, and from November 2013 to May 2017, when the club was called Terek. In addition, he has led Amkar Perm (2007-2008; 2009-2011) and Lokomotiv Moscow (2008-2009).
Previously, Ufa was coached by Vadim Evseev. Under his leadership, the team retained its place in the RPL in the 2018/19 season thanks to a play-off victory over Tom Tomsk, and in the 2019/20 season took ninth place. After 10 rounds of the current championship, Ufa are 15th with six points. On 7 October, Evseev terminated his contract with the club by mutual consent.
